Abstract

UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH JAKARTA FALKUTAS ILMU SOSIAL DAN ILMU POLITIK PROGRAM STUDI ILMU KOMUNIKASI KONSENTRASI PUBLIC RELATIONS Skripsi, 3 Juli 2023 Barikatul Hikmah 2019140082 PERAN HUMAS POLRES TANGERANG SELATAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN CITRA KEPOLISIAN ABSTRAK Dengan adanya berbagai isu negatif yang menghampiri kepolisian Republik Indonesia, maka hal ini dapat berdampak buruk terhadap citra kepolisian. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan peran humas yang maksimal dalam meningkatkan citra kepolisian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang Peran Humas Kepolisian Resor Tangerang Selatan dalam meningkatkan citra Kepolisian. Hal tersebut juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui pendapat dari pihak eksternal yaitu masyarakat dan wartawan yang bermitra dengan Polres Tangerang Selatan mengenai peran yang telah dilakukan oleh humas dalam meningkatkan citra kepolisian. Teori yang digunakan ialah teori Peran Humas dari Ruslan (2016), yaitu Communicator, Relationship, Back up Management, dan Good Image Maker. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam melakukan penelitian ini ialah Pendekatan kualitatif, dan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Terdapat empat narasumber dalam penelitian ini yaitu kepala seksi humas Polres Tangsel, PS Kasubsi PIDM, salah satu masyarakat yang berdomisili di Tangerang Selatan dan Wartawan yang bermitra dengan Polres Tangsel. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa peran humas Polres Tangerang Selatan dalam meningkatkan citra dilakukan dengan berbagai cara yaitu sebagai Communicator, Relationship, Back up Management, dan Good Image Maker peran humas tersebut telah dilakukan dengan baik, sehingga masyarakat dapat tetap percaya kepada Lembaga kepolisian. Therefore, the maximum role of public relations is needed in improving the image of the police. This study aims to find out about the Role of Public Relations of the South Tangerang Resort Police in improving the image of the Police. This was also done to find out the opinions of external parties, namely the public and journalists present at the South Tangerang Police regarding the role that has been played by public relations in improving the image of the police. The theory used is the theory of the Public Relations Role from Ruslan (2016), namely Communicator, Relationship, Backup Management, and Good Image Maker. The approach used in conducting this research is qualitative and uses a descriptive method using data collection techniques through interviews, documentation, and literature studies. There were four informants in this head's research namely the public relations section of the South Tangerang Police, PS Head of the PIDM Sub-Division, one of the people living in South Tangerang and journalists who were present at the South Tangerang Police. The results of this study indicate that the public relations role of the South Tangerang Police in improving the image is carried out in various ways, namely as a Communicator, Relationship, Backup Management, and Good Image Maker.
