Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate is an important indicator in determining the level of public health. According to WHO (2020), as many as 403,000 maternal deaths occur worldwide. An increase in the weight of pregnant women who are under or overweight has an impact on the mother and fetus. Apart from the importance of nutrition and maternal weight gain during pregnancy, many pregnant women are worried about their body during or after pregnancy. Thus, it can indirectly cause psychological changes in mothers during pregnancy such as depression and anxiety. This research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge about nutrition in pregnant women and the results of the self-reporting questionnaire (SRQ) with weight gain during pregnancy at the Suradita Health Center, Cisauk District, Tangerang Regency in 2023. This research was an analytic observational with cross sectional design. The number of samples is 100 people using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge about nutrition in pregnant women and weight gain during pregnancy (p value = 0. 000) and there was a relationship between the results of the self­ reporting questionnaire (SRQ) and weight gain during pregnancy (p value = 0. 000). It is recommended for pregnant women to increase their knowledge about nutrition and weight gain during pregnancy to prevent CED which can cause risks during pregnancy.
