Abstract

Background: Postpartum Blues is a condition that commonly occurs in postpartum mothers, where the mother feels discomfort related to the relationship between mother and baby or with herself after the delivery process. Husband support is the biggest factor in the incidence of postpartum blues. Objective: To know the relationship between the husband's role as a father of breast milk with the incidence of postpartum blues in postpartum mothers on days 3-14 at Sumbawa Hospital in 2023. Methods: Quantitative research using cross sectional design. The population of this study were aJI postpartum mothers on days 3-14 at Sumbawa Hospital in 2023 with a total sample size of 95. Data collection tools used the EPDS (Edinburg Postnatal Depression Scale) questionnaire and a questionnaire taken from previous research, namely breastfeeding father. Data analysis using Chi Square. Results: Univariate: Husband's income was mostly 1,500,000-2,500,000 50.5%, Husband's education was mostly high school ai'1d college 72.6%, Mother's parity was mostly primipra 56.8%. Statistical test there is a significant relationship between the role of husband as breastfeeding father with the incidence of postpartum blues (p<0.05). Conclusion: From this study it was concluded that there was a relationship between the husband's role as a breastfeeding father and the incidence of postpartum blues at Sumbawa Hospital in 2023.
