Abstract

Background: Father involvement is characterized by loving and authoritative parenting and results in better behavioral, social, academic, and emotional well-being of children. The quality of parenting and the quality of fathers' knowledge about parenting is very low (27.9%), with mothers playing a greater role (36.9%). The absence of a father can hinder a child's development from infancy through childhood and into adulthood. Children are the buds, potential, and next generation of the nation's ideals. Children have a strategic role in ensuring the existence of the nation and state in the future. Objective: This study aims to determine the involvement of the father's role in the care of children aged 24-60 months in Bekasi City, West Java in 2023. Methods: This research is included in the type of descriptive research. The technique used in this study was accidental sampling. Data processing in this study used excel software. Results: Father respondents in this study seen from the results answered by respondents, showed that fathers play a role in childcare. Conclusion: The father's view in his daily life in the family even though it looks like he does not play a role, it turns out that the father in the family has a role quite equal to the mother in the family and the father is also heavily involved, especially in earning a living or family needs and the father's time in playing physical activities with children at home.
