Abstract

Background. The toddler years are often said to be a critical period in order to obtain quality human resources, especially the first two years which are included in the golden period for optimal brain growth and development (Milda Riski Nirmala Sari, 2018). WHO and UNICEF recommend the gold standard in feeding babies with exclusive breastfeeding from bi1th to 6 months of age with Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD). Then, when the baby reaches the age of 6 months, he can be given complementary foods (MP ASI) and continue to be given breast milk directly until he is two years old. Providing MP ASI appropriately and correctly can support children's growth and development cognitively, psychologically and have good eating habits. Objective. To find out an overview of the pattern of providing MPASI with the nutritional status of toddlers 6-24 months at PMB Midwife W, Susukan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta. Method. This research is a type of descriptive research, namely to determine the pattern of providing MP ASI with the nutritional status of toddlers 6-24 months in PMB Susukan Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta. The research design used is a slll"Vey approach by giving questionnaires to respondents to answer according to the respondent's knowledge. Researchers choose locations by considering that the place can carry out research. This research was conducted in September 2023 with 27 children aged 6-24 months as respondents. Results. There is a pattern of appropriate behavioral MP ASI giving with normal body weight as many as 15 respondents (57.7%), very underweight as many as 2 respondents (7.7%), underweight as many as 2 respondents (7. 7%) and risk of being overweight as many as 7 respondents (26.9%). %). Inappropriate behavior with underweight was l respondent (20.0%), normal weight was 4 respondents (80). Conclusion. Based on the research results, the researchers concluded that the majority of MP ASI feeding patterns behaved appropriately, namely normal body weight, as for very underweight, underweight and the risk of being overweight. The results of this research have important value in providing education to mothers of toddlers about the co1Tect way to provide complementary breast milk (MPASI) which can be adjusted to age and type of food. Having good knowledge means that mothers can ensure that children receive food according to their needs at each stage of growth and this has a positive impact on children's health and development.
