Abstract

The emergence of the Independent Learning Curriculum for early childhood education (PAUD) in the midst of the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum which has not been completed, makes teachers confused about how to develop learning with a new paradigm. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum in early childhood. This study used a survey technique conducted on 93 teachers at the Indonesian Early Childhood Educators and Education Personnel Forum (FPTK AUDI). The data obtained are analyzed qualitatively through expert judgement and descriptive quantitative. The results showed that teachers had not fully applied learning principles (32.26%), Pancasila student profiles (39.78%), Learning Outcomes (CP) (38.71%), designed learning based on CP elements (35.48%), assessment principles (35.48%), and authentic assessments (36.56%). Teachers were able to translate CP into the School Operational Curriculum (KOS) (33.33%) and make daily learning plans (31.18%) but still experienced errors. There are indicators of making and implementing KOS, teachers can carry out in full (34.40%). Teachers need information technology (IT) applications, the use of loose parts, getting to know children's learning abilities, assessment techniques, learning methods, and learning plans in the context of a new paradigm. These findings indicate the need for wider socialization to teachers in various regions in order to learn and implement the Merdeka Belajar PAUD Curriculum to the fullest. This research has implications for the preparation of a Learning Management System (LMS) for teachers so that they can absorb the Merdeka Belajar PAUD Curriculum in their respective units.
